i love doing editorial illustrations. i just wish i had more offers to do them. it's a tough part of the business to break into, that's for sure. if you like what you see and are in the position to hire me for this kind of assignment, just do it!

A Cry from the Clearing
book cover
i got to have creative freedom in designing this cover for this psychological thriller. you might recognize the face from the painting entitled "Head of Medusa" by Caravaggio (one of my favorite artists). The publisher was responsible for securing the rights from Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence. The rest is a combination of images and some of my original oilpainting.

Signs and Pitfalls
book cover
i doubt this book was ever published. i was hired by the author who was planning to self-publish her book and sell it online. i could never find it. in any case, i think i did a decent job of illustration the story of a young woman that keeps making the same mistakes again and again even though she's fully aware of them. chick lit, i guess.

The Siren of Bellamy Gardens
book cover
i love the illustration i did for this supernatural mystery. what i don't love so much is the framing and typography which, yes, i did, but was hamstringed by the publisher's creative department. i've been thinking of stripping out that stuff and just displaying the artwork.
